Get Help with the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP)

Since 2012 Volunteers of America of the Carolinas has operated an Employment Program through funding from a U.S. Department of Labor grant. The Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) purposes to place Homeless Female Veterans and Veterans with Families who are homeless into jobs. Eligible Veterans who have been out of work for a while or need to transition from military to civilian work may gain skills, certifications, tools, uniforms and/or transportation helps in order to reduce barriers to employment.

Through relationship-focused interventions HVRP staff assists the Veteran Participants to identify, secure and maintain gainful employment. The VOA Employment Specialists also make referrals and connections to help a Veteran secure housing and other vital services. HVRP hands-on services may include:

  • Classroom Training
  • Case Management
  • Job Search Activities
  • Job Preparation
  • On-the-Job Training
  • Job Placement
